Christmas and the New Year are out of the way, so it is time to turn our heads towards the coming sailing season and getting Happy Return ready to go.
Prior to the festive season we managed to un-step the masts and move them onto the quay next to the boat.
Work has been moving ahead quietly on the refurbishment of the fore mast which is being led by Nick Darling.
James Walker and John Tellam are preparing to service the engine and its associated components, which means that we have a considerable number of jobs to be undertaken.
We are now looking for members who would be happy to undertake work on the boat.
Ideally it is thought that teams of two will be best suited to the work ahead. With that in mind I would like volunteers for the following jobs:-
Woodworkers x 2 or 3 members
Masts and spares refurbishment x 2 members
Electrical maintenance x 2 members
Painters, four teams of two, or more
Painting and cleaning below decks x 2 members
If you would like to take part, then please contact Mark.
The times for members to work on Happy Return is a very flexible. Weekday or weekend are on the cards and once the evenings start to lighten up that will be an option too.
Just let me know what day and job you are interested in, and I will endeavour to team up members.
Throughout to refurbishment we will be on hand to offer guidance as and when necessary, so do not think that you will be given an impossible task.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Best Regards
Mark
